Paul Taylor - Assistant Manager - Paul has been in the hobby since 1996, (ever since his son
asked him for a train set for Christmas). Paul models BC Rail in HO scale
but has been known to dabble in N scale as well. Paul's favorite railways
besides BC Rail, are the Southern Railway of BC and the Newfoundland
Railway, but is interested and knowledgeable in other Canadian railways.
Paul is also knowledgeable about DCC, (Digital Command Control), and has
been using it on his small home layout since 1999. Paul is a member of the
Erin Mills Model Railway Association, Canadian Association of Railway
Modellers, and the Internet based BC Rail SIG.
Tom Ross Inventory/Store Supervisor - Tom provides over 40 years experience in collecting, repairing and restoring older model trains. His passion is post-war Lionel, but he is also very familiar with Marx, American Flyer, M.T.H. plus many other older model trains and toys. Tom is one of a select few in Eastern Canada with the knowledge and experience to appraise and evaluate collectible model trains for estate and insurance purposes. Repairs to older trains are expertly handled, providing parts are still available from his many contacts in the industry. While Tom is an O specialist, he has a good knowledge and understanding of the many other scales in model railroading.
Damon Stead Damon has been involved in model railroading for over 20 years! He has extensive experience with HO scale and North American Prototype and has an interest in Transit Systems. He collects Marx O Scale and is currently experimenting with N-Scale. Damon specializes in scenery and custom painting and detailing of engines and rolling stock. Damon recently completed 5 years of art school, graduating from Sheridan College for Illustration.
Stew Parker Stew has joined our team and brings with him 35 years of experience in the hobby. Stew started out modeling in Lionel and them moved to N-Gauge, modeling mostly CPR. He is a member of the Erin Mills Model Railway Association and Weekender M.R.R. You will find Stew in the N-scale Aisles.
Mike Salfi - Given his dad was a brakeman then later an engineer at
Inco, his mom loved travel by train especially from Sudbury to Montreal, it's
not much of a surprise that he has developed a love for trains. He received his
first train (Marx) set at 4 years of age and enjoyed that for many years before
putting it away during high school. During his final year at University he was
re-acquainted with model trains when his wife wanted a train set to circle the
Christmas tree. That was 1975, ever since he has been active modeling the
transition years (steam to diesel) and you can regularly see his landscaped
11ftx22ft in the many magazine articles he writes.
